When it comes to Canada’s travel ban: Why it’s still an issue

The Canadian travel ban has been on the books since June, but the US is still trying to crack down on Canadians.
It’s a long way away from being a one-off issue.
The US is in the process of phasing out some of its own visa-issuing programs and has issued a series of travel advisory letters to Canadian citizens.
But even though Canada has temporarily suspended the US travel ban and has revoked visas for several countries, it remains in effect for Canada’s citizens.
The US has banned travelers from seven of its allies in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Canada also suspended its travel to the US on Wednesday and Thursday, and will do so on Friday.
Canada has been taking steps to mitigate the effect of the US ban, and Canada’s own government has been urging Canadians to visit and visit regularly.
But there’s still no clarity as to what will happen next, and the travel ban is still on the table for some Canadians.
