How to avoid a visa overstay and the visa waiver program

An overstay of at least 10 days is allowed as long as the stay is in the country of origin or in the destination country, and there is no evidence that the person was attempting to enter the United States illegally.
The State Department also says people who are overstaying a visa for the purpose of travel must be accompanied by an authorized person at all times and must remain at the destination. Read more
